Internship Expectation
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
Location: This internship is based in-person at our Portage, Michigan facility.
Start: ASAP
Duration: 12-month minimum requirement (Internships can extend up to 24 months)
Hours per week:
- During School - 15 to 25 hours a week
- During Breaks - 20 to 40 hours a week (note - this includes winter, spring and summer breaks)
Main Tasks
Dimensional Layouts
− Review internal and external drawings (blueprints) and develop a measurement program to validate all part dimensions on MANN+HUMMEL’s products. This typically includes, but is not limited to:
− Review ballooned drawings
− Review dimensional call outs for accuracy
− Create measurement programs for M+H products
− Scan samples and compile results
− Use hand measurement technics (as necessary) to complete layout
Tool Tuning
− Assist the Metrology Specialists in using the results from the dimensional layout to create a CAD model of the part that can be used by a Tool Shop to make dimensional adjustments.
Miscellaneous
− Perform all activities in a professional and positive manner.
− Performs other related duties as assigned by the Manager – Product Validation
Educational Requirements
− Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field
Skills
− General knowledge of CAD systems a plus
− General knowledge of GD&T
− Applicants must be able to use Microsoft Office package to prepare documentations
