The Opportunity:
We’re seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 at our Lisle, IL location. The internship will begin in May and last for 12 weeks; you will be expected to work 100% on-site. You will work alongside and be mentored by a diverse engineering group with experience in all aspects of engineering. You will assist with programs directed at improving technology in national defense and work for an industry leader in Software Defined Radios. This internship will enable you to strengthen personal and professional connections while building the foundation of a future career.
Responsibilities:
- Aid in the development of Software Defined Radios and other various electrical designs
- Identify and troubleshoot issues that arise during the design and testing phases
- Provide component research for obsolescence, replacement, and product improvement
- Analyze test data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for design adjustments
- Prepare detailed documentation of design processes, test results, and any modifications made
- Simulate designs using LTSpice, MATLAB, or Mentor Hyperlynx
- Develop schematic drawings using Mentor Expedition
- Document procedures for HW and SW testing
- Perform measurements using multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum and network analyzers
Qualifications:
Required:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Proficient understanding and experience with the use of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficient in basic electrical engineering calculations and application of Ohm's Law
- Firm understanding of mathematical principles associated with calculus and statistics
- Basic understanding of the use of electrical engineering tools such as a multimeter, oscilloscope, and power supplies
- Experience with report generation and presenting results to others
- Basic understanding of firmware and implementation of firmware on hardware
- Experience with reading component datasheets
Desired:
- Experience with schematic design, PCB layout, and PCB component selection
- Project experience which included electrical design and software/firmware integration
- Experience with Python, LTSpice, and MATLAB
- Experience with electrical manufacturing tools such as soldering, crimping, and wire stripping

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
