Are you a Mechanical Engineer with a passion for process engineering and problem-solving? Collins invites you to join our dynamic team at our Cheshire, CT facility! In this role, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the seamless production of our cutting-edge electromechanical products.
As a key member of our team, you'll dive into the heart of our manufacturing process, tackling complex technical challenges head-on. Your expertise will be crucial in maintainingoptimal production yields by troubleshooting, evaluating, and swiftly resolving any issues affecting processes, tooling, materials, or equipment.
But that's not all. You'll also play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our manufacturing processes. From assisting in the design and development of new processes for products entering full-rate production to seamlessly transitioning innovative designs into efficient production realities, your contributions will directly impact our success.
Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run June-December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
What You Will Do:
Support and Optimize manufacturing processes in multiple production areas as:
- Troubleshoot and solve production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.
- Develop and support tooling for existing and new products.
- SAP Work Order, Routing, and BOM management.
- Maintain and Enhance process documentation to current and new process change Configurations.
- Continuously drive improvement in areas of yield, quality cost, schedule, and productivity applying quality tools such as Six Sigma, ACE, etc.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering Science.

Qualifications We Prefer:
- Preferably Electrical, Electronic, and Mechanical engineering disciplines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Software such as MS Word, MS Excel/Macro, MS PPT, etc.
- Displays education experience with computer software languages such as C, C+, C++, Phyton, etc.
- Related Mechanical/Electrical Process Engineering School project exposure/participation.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Six Sigma principles.
