Our state-of-the-art, ACES 5 Ejection Seat is recognized as the benchmark in aircrew ejection safety. Thousands of UTAS ejection seats are in service today on F-15, F-16, A-10, B-1, B-2, AV-8, WB-57, and other aircraft across the world in more than 25 countries. ACES ejection seats have saved the lives of more than 700 aircrew over the last few decades. The systems engineering co-op will support the ejection seating systems engineering department to support the teams daily tasking, while gain exposure all phases of the engineering development lifecycle of a real world, life-saving product.
This is an onsite role, in Colorado Springs, CO.
Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
What You Will Do:
Gain valuable experience working on real-world projects under the guidance of seasoned engineers.
Assist in evaluating external and internal customer needs to help define system performance requirements, document architecture, and validate requirements are met.
Assist in preparation of preliminary and final detail design documentation of systems, components, and assemblies, including both systems and test deliverables.
Be immersed in a fast-paced and challenging technical environment supported by a highly collaborative team, where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.
What You Will Learn:
Learn about the systems engineering discipline and why it’s critical to every facet of engineering.
How to translate and capture project and product requirements in a requirements database/ library such as Jama.
Technical problem solving, evaluating the ‘grey area,’ best practices and application of technical standards, principles, and those look like in the real world
Qualifications You Must Have:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
