THE ROLE:
As a Machine Learning Engineer Intern in Summer 2026, you will contribute to the development and deployment of machine learning solutions across Oshkosh’s engineering and product platforms. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build models, improve algorithms, and integrate intelligent systems into real-world applications.
YOUR IMPACT:
As a Machine Learning Engineer Intern, your responsibilities may include:
Designing, training, and evaluating supervised and unsupervised learning models on GPU servers or edge platforms
Processing and analyzing structured and unstructured datasets including imagery data
Developing data pipelines and model deployment workflows from cloud to edge
Collaborating with engineering teams to integrate ML models into applications or embedded systems
Conducting experiments and benchmarking algorithms for performance and accuracy
Documenting model behavior, performance metrics, and experiment results
Participating in code reviews, research discussions, and innovation workshops
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with coursework in machine learning and statistics
Proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and Linux environment. Knowledge of GPU or NPU a plus.
Solid understanding of model development lifecycle and data preprocessing
Willingness to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, WI for the summer internship

Pay Range:
$18.00 - $37.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
