The Software Engineering Graduate internship experience is an 10.5 weeks full-time opportunity that starts on May 27th, 2026, and concludes on August 7th, 2026. This is a hybrid position with 3 days (generally Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in the New York, NY; Hartford, CT; Irving, TX; or Wellesley, MA office location. The other 2 days each week may be worked remotely from home, another location, or you’re welcome to be in the office on those days as well.

The hourly rate is $55/hr with 40 hours/week, no work on July 4th (company holiday), and two days of paid leave. Additionally, our corporate interns have an increased likelihood to receive an offer for a future role with CVS Health.

Sponsorship:

Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.  This includes participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.

Relocation:

CVS Health follows a hybrid work model providing office-based colleagues the ability to flex between working in the office and working from home based on the work you need to accomplish. Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates that need to move over 50 miles.

What You’ll Do:

This graduate-level internship offers hands-on experience with advanced software engineering projects, mentorship, and exposure to enterprise-scale analytics. You’ll work on initiatives that require deeper technical expertise and strategic thinking, including:

· Designing and building scalable software applications using modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript)

· Developing and optimizing user interfaces with frameworks/libraries such as React or Angular

· Building server-side solutions using Node.js

· Leveraging cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform (GCP) preferred) for development and deployment

· Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions

· Applying Agile/SAFe methodologies and contributing to architecture-level discussions

Required Qualifications:

· Proficiency in Python for software development

· Experience designing and building software applications using additional programming languages such as Java or JavaScript

· Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data

· Familiarity with front-end frameworks/libraries such as React or Angular

· Experience designing and developing high-performance, large-scale distributed systems (using APIs, microservices, and data streams)

· Experience using Node.js for building server-side or back-end applications

· Experience with cloud development (GCP preferred)

· Internship or work experience in a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

· Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, Docker)

· Ability to troubleshoot and optimize for performance and scalability

· Strong collaboration and communication skills within and across teams

· Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities

· Resourceful and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment

Education:

· Currently pursuing a Master’s degree with expected graduation between Dec 2026 – June 2027

· Preferred majors: Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$55.00 - $55.00
