About our Internship Program:

The Summer Internship Program is a unique and challenging 10-week experience for diverse, talented, high-performing individuals interested in different aspects of the financial and technology industry. Contingent upon business needs, performance and completion of degree, our internship serves as a pipeline to our full-time early-career program EDGE.

  • A flexible/hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and a third day unique to each team or employee). 

The impact you will have in this role:

The primary function of the Market Risk group is to protect the safety and soundness of the markets in the areas of clearance and settlement in the DTCC complex. The Market Risk group within Financial Risk & Governance is responsible for assessing and managing risks associated with the products and services provided by the Fixed Income Clearing Corporation (“FICC”), National Securities Clearing Corporation ("NSCC") and The Depository Trust Company (“DTC”). 

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day risk controls and processes as outlined in our Policy & Procedures such as researching significant increases in margin requirements, monitoring changes in exposure, analyzing trading patterns of member firms, etc.
  • Develop a strong understanding of members’ business and risk profiles and serve as a point of contact for risk related support and inquiries.
  • Assess existing processes and provide recommendations of new ones that most effectively anticipate, manage, and reduce risk to DTCC and its participants.
  • Contribute to Market Risk’s Default Management team initiatives as needed.

Selection and Program Timeline: (timing may vary)

  • August – October 2025: Applications open
  • October – December 2025: Interview and Selection process
  • January – May 2026: Early engagement and onboarding process
  • June 2026: Start of program

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be working towards a bachelor’s degree in the following curriculums: Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or any other related field
  • Candidates must have authorization to work permanently in the US without the need for sponsorship (now or in the future)
  • Candidates must have minimum of a 3.2 GPA upon graduation

Talents Needed for Success:

  • Must demonstrate superior analytical and communication skills 
  • Strong interest in the financial services industry, with previous internship experience a plus in the areas of margining, market risk analysts, or product management 
     
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
