Job Description

Summary: The Project Engineering Co-op is an integral part of the Engineering team.  They are primarily responsible for the management of small projects in the department and tracking continuous improvement savings and project costs. The Co-op student presents an end of work term presentation to the Site Leadership Team. Essential Functions: Project management for small projects in the department Develop project management plans and schedules Development and execution Installation and Qualification Protocols Participate in other equipment related activities (commissioning, start-up, test trials etc.) Assist in tracking Operational Excellence savings as well as project costs Explore production efficiency improvement ideas Help troubleshoot issues and support Engineers in the department Assist in organizing engineering drawings Assist in setting up engineering document library Maintain a safe working environment and reports potential hazards. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required Working towards a College Diploma or University Degree in Engineering Experience: Requires no previous related experience. Equivalency: Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills. Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy. Works well with limited supervision and takes full ownership of assigned work. Excellent time management skills. Strong ideas, decision making abilities, trouble shooting and thinking-out-of-the-box skills. Project management skills preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Proficiency with the English language.
