About the Role & Program
The Disneyland® Resort is looking for a creative, dynamic, self-starting communicator to join the External Communications team within Communications & Public Affairs. As part of this team, the External Communications intern helps to enhance and protect the reputation of the Disneyland® Resort. You’ll play an important role in telling compelling stories on a variety of platforms to highlight the resort as a great place to work, a responsible community partner, and an innovative business with an optimistic future.
The intern will report to the Senior Manager, Communications
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in Anaheim, California, from January 2026 through June 2026
What You Will Do
As an External Communications Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Content creation:
- Develop engaging social media content for the Disneyland® Resort’s Cast and Community social platforms by brainstorming content ideas, capturing photos, filming and editing videos for Instagram Stories and Reels, and crafting copy.
- Using strong writing skills to develop compelling stories and narratives about the Disneyland® Resort, its Cast Members, community initiatives, and other business priorities.
- Crafting and curating content for online newsletters and other editorial platforms.
Reputation management/research:
- Contributing to the success of our team by managing contact lists, building presentations, fact-checking, and conducting research.
- Keeping a pulse on news involving the Disneyland® Resort by monitoring social and traditional media for relevant clips and sentiment and developing reports that illustrate the positive impact of our work.
Please Apply If You Have
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with expertise in AP style and keen attention to detail.
- Social media know-how with an ongoing understanding of Instagram trends, algorithms, and metrics.
- Content capture and video editing experience in Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to proactively manage multiple projects and priorities at once with a positive team spirit.
Education
- Junior or Senior preferred
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Media Relations, or a related major.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the requirements below
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information
- The approximate dates of this internship are January 2026 through June 2026.
- Fully available from Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM Pacific Time Zone for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
- Be aligned with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Anaheim, California, area.
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
