Job Details:

Tyson Foods Inc. is looking to add Food Safety & Quality Assurance interns to its team for the summer of 2026. The selected interns will participate in food safety & quality assurance facility audits, develop standardized enterprise-wide food safety & quality assurance training programs, support Tyson Foods innovation and product development projects, participate and lead technical services assigned projects, as well as in other food safety & quality assurance projects as assigned.  Projects will be assigned based on need at time of internship but will generally cover topics related to these categories of work:  Food Safety Science and Innovation, Technical Services, and Applications of FSQA Policies and Procedures. 
Please Note: This role is a summer only internship that requires the selected candidate to work as many as 40 hours per week during the summer. This role also requires the selected candidate to work in office at Tyson Foods’ Springdale, AR World Headquarters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Roles: 
  • sample and data collection at production facilities in support of: 
    • multi-hurdle intervention evaluations in meat and poultry products
    • troubleshooting food safety and food quality opportunities
    • process and product development and improvement
  • analyze, summarize, and report out data associated with data/sample collection
  • assist in quality system and food safety audits
  • assist in roll out of and installation of new technologies or new products at production facilities
  • assist in other FSQA projects as assigned or needed
Requirements: 
  • Education: University level studies in Poultry Science, Food Science, Meat Science, Biology, Chemistry or other related discipline with at least one year of school remaining. (Junior or Senior with a 3.0 GPA)
  • Experience: Previous laboratory, food safety and quality, and/or research and development experience is a plus
  • Communication: Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills: Intermediate computer skills including statistical data analysis. Experience with Microsoft Office tools, and willingness to learn enterprise-wide software
  • Travel:  Extensive travel to production facilities may be required
  • Work Shift: 1st Shift, but may require work across shifts 1, 2 and 3.
