Mortgage Member Services is a key unit within the Mortgage and Equity Servicing and Support division of the Real Estate Lending Department at Navy Federal Credit Union. Our team is at the forefront of providing exceptional mortgage account services to our members, offering a wide range of services including processing payoff quotes, drafting, recast, assumption, streamline rate reduction, and loan modification. While we operate as a back-office team, we manage both front-end and back-end operations, ensuring seamless service delivery and operational excellence.

As a Summer Associate in Mortgage Member Services, you will gain hands-on experience supporting a dynamic team committed to delivering exceptional service to Navy Federal Credit Union members. This role offers exposure to both administrative and operational functions, with a focus on evaluating current processes and identifying opportunities for streamlining and efficiency. You will also gain insight into the financial industry by supporting day-to-day operations, developing soft skills, enhancing business and analytical knowledge, and applying creative problem-solving. You will work within established standards, policies, and procedures while engaging in a collaborative, team-driven environment and interacting with multiple departments.

We are looking for an energetic and highly motivated individual with a passion for process improvement and operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The selected candidate will make a meaningful impact by contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our team.

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2026 and ending in August 2026. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or later.

  • Evaluate business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency
  • Assist in collecting, organizing, and preparing data for analysis and reporting
  • Develop actionable recommendations to streamline workflows and enhance operational performance
  • Prepare and present proposals based on research findings to management for review and consideration
  • Collaborate with team members across various levels to complete assignments and tasks
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions, placing member service as priority
