Technology Internships at NinjaTrader

We are seeking highly motivated college students with a passion for technology to join NinjaTrader’s summer internship program. This internship offers hands-on experience in software development, working closely with our experienced team on real-world projects that drive the #1 retail futures trading platform forward.

What you'll do:

This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with large-scale, high-performance systems that power our trading platform. You will assist in maintaining the reliability, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure, learning how modern cloud-based systems support a fast-paced trading environment.

You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers across product, infrastructure, and operations teams to help improve system reliability, implement automation, and enhance observability. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices while contributing to impactful projects.

In this role you will:

Support engineers in analyzing and troubleshooting production issues while learning best practices for maintaining uptime and service performance
Perform initial root cause analysis and remediation of production issues using AI tools
Build tools to automate repetitive tasks, deployments, and incident responses with the goal of minimal human involvement
Assist in configuring dashboards and alerts with tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or GCP to monitor system health and performance
Leverage IaC tools like Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and management for all platforms
Work alongside product and operations teams to understand how features are deployed and maintained in production environments

What you'll need:

Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
Strong interest in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure
Basic understanding of Linux systems, networking, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, or Go)
Familiarity with containers (Docker) and interest in learning Kubernetes
Curious, proactive, and eager to learn new technologies
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Bonus points for:

Coursework or side projects involving cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Exposure to automation or IaC tools (Terraform, Helm)
Familiarity with monitoring tools or dashboards
Contributions to open-source projects
