The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost is seeking an intern for the Fall 2025 semester (with possibility of continuing through the Spring semester).

Applicants must be eligible for Federal Work Study.

The specific weekly schedule will be developed based on the office’s administrative needs and the student’s academic commitments. Some availability on Monday and/or Wednesday for the Fall 2025 semester is preferred.

During some shifts the intern will be responsible for monitoring the front desk including greeting guests, managing guest parking, and supporting meetings in the conference room. In addition, this position may support various office projects with data collection and management, web-based research, communications, or event planning.

During other shifts the intern will work on specific tasks and projects, shadow provost office staff, or attend meetings.

The position is for 10-15 hours a week, in person, within the hours of M-F, 8 AM to 5 PM in Booker House on Central Grounds.

No prior work experience is required. All necessary training will be provided.

Interns are required to enroll in a one-credit course, either UNST 3910 or UNST 3920.

This position would be ideal experience for a student with demonstrated interest in governance, public policy, data management, and/or higher education administration. There may be opportunities for deeper involvement in University initiatives which are of particular interest to the intern.

Education: Current UVA student with FWS eligibility
Experience: None
Licensure: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
