TC Energy is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in Houston, TX to support our efforts in Energy Problem Solving and our daily operations.

We are seeking students enrolled in an ABA-accredited Juris Doctorate degree program to support our U.S. Natural Gas Pipelines Law team.

You’ll learn about the business and build your professional network by working closely with other skilled people at TC Energy. Every day will enhance your knowledge, skills and passion for what you do.

Term length is 3 months.

What you’ll do

  • Perform legal research and analysis in connection with matters relevant to the US Natural Gas business, potentially including (but not limited to): Federal Energy Regulatory Commission proceedings, environmental and pipeline safety regulations, and land acquisition and access

  • Present work product to attorneys and business personnel, and accompany attorneys to related hearings, negotiations, and conferences as applicable

  • Participate in negotiation and drafting of a wide variety of agreements necessary for commercial operations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an ABA-accredited Juris Doctorate degree program, and must have completed second year of law school prior to May 2026

  • Possess strong advocacy skills, both oral and written

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to support diverse client groups and handle multiple tasks

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment

  • Experience working in a dynamic and challenging environment, and adaptable to changing priorities

  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment

  • Exhibit a safety mindset, in a professional and personal setting

  • Exhibit the TC Energy corporate values and incorporate them into work activities and initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

While not a prerequisite for consideration, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest in energy law or related fields, such as (but not limited to) coursework related to energy law or policy, commercial law as relevant to the energy industry, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulatory law, or environmental law.
