ASPIRE Technical Post Undergraduate Intern

The Global Security Directorate is seeking a talented and enthusiastic intern to contribute towards key projects supporting the Department of Energy’s national security mission.  Experience a work environment that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and partnership.  The ideal candidate will be working toward an Associate’s degree with a focus in electrical, electronics, power, or a related field. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Working toward an Associate’s degree with a focus in electrical, electronics, power, or a related field
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to collaborate and contribute to a team of engineers, technicians, metallurgists, project managers, technicians, and other support staff
• Effective communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with strong initiative
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Minimum age of 18
• For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands on experience as an electrical technician

• Provide electrical technical support to mobile nuclear facilities, to include wiring, troubleshooting, building components
• Follow all safety and security protocols
