Organization & Team Overview
FreeWheel, a Comcast company, provides comprehensive media buying platforms for publishers, advertisers, and ad buyers. Powered by premium video content, robust data, and advanced technology, our programmatic marketing platforms make it easier for buyers and sellers to transact across all screens, data types, and sales channels. As a global company, we have offices in nine countries and can insert advertisements around the world.
The Revenue Science team develops technology that maximizes the value of digital advertising transactions between buyers and sellers. With transactions occurring in a fully automated manner, the optimization and prediction technologies we build are key value drivers for customers across our supply chain, as well as for enhancing the overall consumer experience.
Role Description
Ever wonder why your streaming content ad experience can sometimes be great and other times frustrating? Did you know that, in some cases, your ad experience is fully determined by the content owner, while in others it results from a chain of real-time negotiations happening in just milliseconds? Would you like to understand how it all works—and how science can make it better?
As a Revenue Science intern, you will explore the digital ad supply chain and learn how algorithms mediate and optimize billions of transactions. You’ll gain hands-on experience with machine learning and optimization to develop and refine the algorithms that power one of the world’s most dynamic and liquid marketplaces.
You will have an opportunity to understand the challenges of working in a big data environment, learning the techniques that separate the real McCoy’s from the posers. Rest assured that the footprint of your work will manifest itself in each and every one of the billions and billions of transactions that our solutions orchestrate every day.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Data analysis and metrics design
Running multi-dimensional experiments on high volume data streams
Design of specific functions as part of overall algorithm design
Design and presentation of human interpretable results
Prototyping
Preferred Skills
Optimization, probability, statistics. Knowing how to use AI/ML frameworks by itself doesn’t cut it. You must know why they do what they do and have a sense of their pros and cons at a fundamental level. Otherwise, you will get bored because you are doing work that even a machine can do.
You must be willing to dive deep into the data to understand its meaning and organization. This takes time and can get dull, but if you feed garbage in to even the best algorithm you will get garbage out.
Algorithm prototyping and design (typically using Python and many of the AI/ML and math frameworks available)
Preferred Majors: CS, Econ, Management Science, Engineering, Math, or technical fields. (You must like solving problems by computer.)

Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)
Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026
Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
