Job Description
AECOM Tishman is seeking a Construction Intern to be based in New York, NY
This position is expected to begin in May 2026.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
- Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff.
- Meets required schedules while producing quality work.
- Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.

We employ a diversified preconstruction and construction management staff of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers; architects; technology specialists; scheduling and cost control personnel; and construction estimators and accountants. We provide expert consultation and guidance in all phases of a building project, from master-planning, preconstruction options evaluation and decision-making, to design review, estimating, and scheduling, through procurement, construction and occupancy. AECOM Tishman’s staff manages all consultants and contractors on a project, representing client interests throughout the project cycle. In total, AECOM Tishman has built more than 900 million square feet – including the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, One World Trade Center in New York.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar discipline, and must have completed at least 2 years of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working for a large general contractor.
- Previous relevant internship experience.
- Exposure to other construction-based computer programs.
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, and Outlook), as well as exposure to other construction-based computer programs.
