Responsibilities

Responsibilities As an EHS Intern, you’ll dive into hands-on projects that bolster workplace safety and environmental responsibility. Your key tasks will include:

  • Optimizing our learning management system: Help streamline our training processes for maximum efficiency.
  • Conducting confined space hazard analyses: Identify and mitigate potential hazards; support documentation and permitting.
  • Performing ergonomic evaluations: Assess workstations and tasks; provide actionable recommendations to improve ergonomics.

Featured Projects

  • Project 1: Assist with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program transfer to the Brady system, including equipment audits, procedure updates, device labeling, and related training/documentation.
  • Project 2: Build company-specific computer-based training modules in Articulate.
  • Project 3: Help the company prepare for ISO 14001 (Environmental), ISO 45001 (Occupational Safety and Health), and ISO 50001 (Energy Management) certification through gap assessments, document control, KPI tracking, and internal audit support.

Qualifications

Education

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in safety, Environmental Studies, Environmental/Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related field (preferred).

Skills & Abilities

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and software; familiarity with learning management systems and/or e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work both independently and in a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, stand, use manual dexterity, stoop, bend, and lift minimally as required.
