This role is hands-on and research-focused, offering you an opportunity to apply your architectural education in a real-world HOA and residential design context.

You will interview the Director of Design Review using a structured questionnaire, review existing lot files, and enter all data into HOA Life™, the Association’s management platform. Your work will create the first comprehensive digital catalog of the community’s architectural history.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct structured interviews with the Director of Design Review to capture knowledge for each lot.
  • Review, organize, and digitize existing lot files (construction plans, permits, variances, landscaping documents, etc.).
  • Enter structured data and upload documents into HOA Life for all 563 lots.
  • Maintain accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
  • Work under supervision of the Project Lead and provide weekly progress updates.
  • Assist in creating a long-term Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for maintaining architectural records.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable conducting structured interviews and taking thorough notes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and basic database entry.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural/landscape drawings (preferred but not required).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently with guidance.

Learning Opportunities

  • Gain practical experience in residential design review processes.
  • Learn how architectural history and compliance records are managed in a large HOA community.
  • Exposure to real-world architectural documentation and governance.
  • Work directly with an experienced design review professional in the field.
