Summer 2026 Recruitment Timeline:
November 10 – December 5: Applications Open (may close early due to applicant volume)

Summer 2026 Internship Program:

Corporate Functions: NBCUniversal's Corporate groups are uniquely positioned at the core of our organization. Employees within these groups use their area of expertise to support all businesses across the company, keeping the heart of each brand at the forefront. There are also business-specific opportunities available, which may be included in the description below.
NBCUniversal Local: NBCU Local is NBCUniversal’s local media division that delivers English and Spanish-speakers and bilingual audiences in 31 U.S. markets and Puerto Rico, the very best in local sports, news, weather, consumer and investigative reporting, and lifestyle entertainment across any platform and screen. NBCUniversal Local is comprised of three individual media groups including the NBC Owned Television Stations, the NBC Sports Regional Networks and the Telemundo Station Group. NBCUniversal Local’s stations and networks serve diverse audiences and communities across linear, streaming, OTT, digital web, mobile and audio, and cable platforms and work together to keep local audiences informed anytime and anywhere.
Operations & Technology: (O&T) is a $1B operating cash flow ($1.5B FCF) division of NBCUniversal. The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, Los Angeles, Denver, Connecticut, and London.
Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
- Corporate Social Responsibility: The NBCU Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team oversees the Company’s volunteering and social impact efforts including: Comcast NBCUnites - the company’s employee volunteering program, NBCUniversal Local Impact and Foundation grant making programs, Creative Impact Lab - the company’s initiative to provide opportunities for apprentices to hone their production skills, and The More You Know - the company’s PSA campaign. In addition, the CSR group manages the marketing and communication of these respective platforms and works cross company to support the NBCU businesses in their pro social brand and cause marketing campaigns. The internship will be a great opportunity for a candidate interested in the intersection of business and social purpose, looking to deepen their understanding of employee relations and volunteering along with philanthropy and cause marketing, while building skills and gaining experience as a researcher, event planner, marketer and communicator.
- Corporate Inclusion: The NBCUniversal Corporate Inclusion team works closely with Learning & Development, Early Careers, Talent Branding, Human Resources, CSR, Corporate Communications, and enterprise-wise business units to further the Company’s inclusion initiatives. Responsibilities may include: maintaining and updating databases and distribution lists, regularly communicating and maintaining relationships with 200+ leaders and Corporate Inclusion practitioners across the Company, creating and maintaining key resource documents for internal and external audiences, and assisting with events including handling guest registration and logistics.
- Executive Search: This is an exciting internship opportunity to learn the ins and outs of NBCUniversal’s Global Executive Search Team. Executive Search is an in-house Leadership Recruiting and Advisory Team working across the NBCU enterprise, Comcast, and Sky, specializing in proactively engaging internal and external talent at the Vice President and above level. This team leverages their vast network of relationships to help identify and attract exceptional leadership talent capable of helping transform the company and make NBCU the most competitive and innovative media company in the marketplace. This role plays an integral part of the research team that focuses on proactive pipelining, market mapping projects, and overall knowledge management for the larger team. Additionally, this position will help shape the team’s newly established analytics initiative and continue to build and enhance reporting and metrics.
- Corporate Communications, Creative Group: The Corporate Communications Creative Group produces various creative work for events, digital, video, consumer-facing, and internal communications. This group is looking for an individual who is curious and excited about all things design including: brand identities, design systems, environmental design, video, typography, motion graphics. and illustration. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with an attention to detail, has a collaborative spirit with an ability to meet deadlines, and is comfortable learning new design tools to keep pace with the ever-evolving design field. - NBCU Local Human Resources: As part of the Local group, we manage HR for the Local NBC, Telemundo and Regional Sport Networks throughout the country. This role would support the NY market as well as the HQ group which manages initiatives for the division. The NBCU Local HR intern will support projects including: assisting with professional development programs, assisting with compensation planning, participating in performance management meetings (as appropriate), assisting with transactions, aggregating our Learning and Development initiatives, and participating in creating and launching engagement events.
- Global Video Engineering – Internal Strategy Engagement (Tech): The Business Operations & Communications Intern will drive organizational efficiency, engagement, and communications across key initiatives for our Global Video Engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both the operational and employee engagement sides of a technology business. You’ll gain broad exposure to how a large organization functions, collaborate cross-functionally with teams like HR and Legal, and contribute to projects that improve how we work and communicate.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program. Spring 2026 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2026 internship program.
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
- Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week from June 1 – August 7, 2026.
- Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.
Desired Characteristics:
- Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Interest in the HR field, corporate communications and culture, and/or employee engagement.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to self-start and streamline.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional communication at all levels.
- Well-organized with strong time management & multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders & balance numerous projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Experience with SAP a plus.
- For Corporate Social Responsibility: Experience with marketing and/or communications tasks through school clubs, teams or jobs/internships; Event planning experience through school clubs, teams or jobs/internships; Knowledge of the following software and languages is a plus: Campaign Monitor, Typeform, CyberGrants, Canva.
- For Executive Search: Interest in Recruiting or Executive Search; Experience with a CRM (Encore a huge plus) or ATS preferred.
- For Corporate Communications, Creative Group: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in graphic design or similar; Proficient with Adobe CC software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects; Understanding of design principles such as: typography, layouts, grid systems, color theory, hierarchy, etc.; Knowledge of Cinema 4D, Adobe Dimension, Procreate, and Figma a plus.
- For Global Video Engineering – Internal Strategy Engagement: Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Communications, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred; Interest in employee experience, internal operations, or contract processes a plus.
The hourly rate for student interns is $19.00.
