Job Description
Join the Atrium Health Floyd Family Medicine Residency as a dedicated Family Physician Faculty member. Our program boasts a strong legacy of training family physicians across diverse specialties such as outpatient medicine, hospitalist care, emergency medicine, urgent care, geriatrics, and more. As an unopposed 9-8-8 program, we prioritize innovative teaching methods including POCUS and osteopathic manipulative techniques within a supportive small-group learning environment. Excellence, patient safety, and quality are at the heart of everything we do.
Faculty members actively practice in our outpatient family medicine clinic, providing comprehensive care for patients of all ages. Additionally, faculty rotate through our inpatient service for two-week intervals. Responsibilities include program improvement, delivering lectures, and mentoring residents and medical students.
Requirements:
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
Board Certified in Family Medicine
Minimum of three years post-residency experience preferred
Recent inpatient experience within the last five years
Passion and proficiency in educating learners
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
Round on inpatient service and share call duties with fellow faculty
Maintain an outpatient clinic panel, averaging two half-days per week
Deliver educational lectures
Supervise residents in our patient clinic, overseeing care for adults, pediatrics, and obstetrics
Mentor residents and medical students throughout their training
Compensation and Benefits:
$20,000 Sign-on bonus available
