If you are an undergraduate Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering Student looking to jump start your career, we are offering a 13-month full time internship based at our Scoresby office.  Our Scoresby office is offering rare 13-month full time Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering Internship opportunities commencing 27th January 2026

In this role you will make an impact and gain experience in the following ways: 

  • Supporting the work of the Power Generation Engineering Team by assisting Power Generation Application Engineers daily on Power Generation projects and product engineering support
  • Cummins products Application Engineering – analysing proposed installations in compliance to Cummins PG products Application manuals
  • Project engineering – including all associated design and documentation preparation work supporting Projects Tender Submissions
  • Product engineering support – supporting PG Application Engineers and SPAC Product Management team with New Products release to the region engineering tasks including new products’ compliance audits and reporting
  • Responding to technical queries to both internal and external customers
  • CAD modelling producing SLDs, Site Layouts etc when required
  • Working in a team environment with internal and external customers across multiple departments

About You:  

To qualify for this undergraduate internship, it is essential that you: 

  • Are currently studying a Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering student, ideally at an undergraduate level 
  • Have between 1 and 8 units of study left to complete of your undergraduate degree as of January 2026 
  • Are available for the full 13 months and be willing to defer your studies for that duration. 

Note: Applicants that do not meet these qualifying requirements unfortunately will not be considered. 

To be successful in this role, you will possess skills/abilities or be able to perform: 

  • Working towards a qualification in bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or mechatronics Engineering 
  • Strong results in mathematics and Microsoft Excel skills with Visual Basic experience in macros will be favourably looked at
  • An appreciation and understanding of basic power generation, and application
  • Good Attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to show initiative, operate autonomously & think independently
  • Strong teamwork & communication skills and stakeholder management
  • Driver’s license is beneficial but not mandatory

This is a 13-month, full time, paid placement and the successful candidate will be required to defer their studies for the duration of the program.
