The Opportunity

Ovintiv is seeking to fill the position of Land Negotiator in either a full-time role or an internship with the ability to develop into a full-time role.

Internship: Comprehensive summer internship designed to provide a solid foundation of knowledge and experiential training while giving students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in school in a real-world setting. As an intern you will spend the summer working closely with an experienced mentor and be assigned a project and various other responsibilities intended to provide you with learning opportunities while delivering meaningful contributions to Ovintiv.

Fulltime Position: Ovintiv offers 2-3 year rotational program that places new hires in Land Administration, Mineral Land and Surface Land.  The program provides a broad foundation across multiple Land functions prior to being placed on a team. 

Locations: Ovintiv has US Corporate Offices in Denver, CO and The Woodlands, TX; Field Offices in Midland, TX and Okarche, OK.

Responsibilities

Land Negotiators work on cross-discipline teams where Land, Legal, Engineering, Geology, Marketing and Accounting work together to acquire, optimize and develop assets in unconventional resource plays.  Land Negotiators often play key roles in acquisitions, divestitures, contract negotiation, regulatory and contractual compliance and partner relationships.

Qualifications

• Project management skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a team environment.

• Self-starter with motivation to excel.

• Negotiation and conflict management skills.

• Strategic and proactive problem solver.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to develop good working relationships with internal and external partners

• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in Quorum Land Suite; Microsoft PowerBI and TIBCO Spotfire a plus.

Required Qualifications

• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• Anticipated graduation in Spring 2026 or Fall 2026 with preferred degrees in Energy Management (Bachelors) or School of Law (Juris Doctorate).

• Minimum GPA requirement: 3.00

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Ovintiv's reasonable estimate of the hiring compensation range for this role:

• Internship Hiring Hourly Range: $30.63 - $42.40 USD

• Full-time Salary Range: $98,000-$100,000 USD
