The WEX Summer Internship Program: Learn, Lead, and Make an Impact

Our 13-week paid internship program, running from late May to mid-August, is a chance for you to gain real-world experience and develop your skills. Recruiting begins in September and continues through December at our various locations across the U.S.

You won't just be a bystander; you'll work on impactful projects and contribute to WEX’s mission. About the Team/Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Enterprise Applications Engineer Intern to join our team for the Summer 2026 program. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and make a real impact on our products.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Work on a project that directly contributes to our product roadmap and business goals.

• Collaborate with experienced software engineers to design, develop, and test new features.

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

• Learn and apply new technologies and development methodologies.

• Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure a high-quality user experience.

• Present your project and share your learnings with the team and company leadership.

Experience you’ll bring:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and will have completed at least your Sophomore year of school at the start of the internship.

• You have some experience with at least one programming language like Java, Python, C#/.NET or JavaScript.

• You have some experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and SSO (SAML, OAuth)

• You have a solid understanding of fundamental computer science concepts, including data structures and algorithms.

• You are a creative problem-solver with a strong desire to learn.

• You have excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• You are passionate about technology and building innovative solutions.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
