Job Description

This position is expected to start around August or September 2025 and continue through the Fall term (ending approximately December 2025) or continuing into Winter/Spring 2026 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.
About the Team:
As a member of the Chassis Systems Software team, you will participate in the development of high-quality embedded software for the Tesla air suspension and adaptive damping system that enhances the vehicle ride comfort, handling, and off-roading capabilities. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will develop reliable and maintainable code to ensure seamless integration with production and service. A passion for innovation, coupled with strong expertise in embedded systems, real-time development, and automotive control strategies, is essential for individuals aiming to excel within our dynamic team.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality C code in a real-time embedded environment
Specify, design, and implement functionality and behaviors of embedded subsystems
Design the software architecture and firmware implementation on hardware through integration and testing
Work with Vehicle Dynamics Engineers to ensure sensing, actuation, and controls implementation can deliver the desired vehicle dynamics attributes
Hands-on hardware bring-up, system debugging and code optimization
Develop unit and component level tests to ensure proper functionality
Make performance and optimization trade-offs to meet product requirements
Job Requirements
Pursing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Systems, or a related field with a graduation date between December 2025 – Decmeber 2026
Proficiency in C, comprehension of Python
Fluent in software fundamentals, including software design and maintainability
Experience with real-time operating system development
Experience with embedded microprocessor tools
Experience with testing, debugging, and working directly with hardware
Experience with controls software and algorithm development
Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals including circuit analysis and design
Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts
