As a UX Design Intern based in Round Rock, TX office you will work alongside a talented team to create groundbreaking solutions that leave our world in a better place than we found it. You will collaborate with agile development teams to create products that are easy to use, meet our users’ needs and deliver value to our business.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Collaborate with agile development teams and other stakeholders to deliver products and features that deliver value to both our customers and our business
  • Participate in design workshops to ideate on solutions that will create intuitive user experiences and eliminate customer difficulties
  • Work with agile development teams to create product designs including creating personas, user flows, storyboards, wireframes, mockups, and other design artifacts as needed
  • Follow the Emerson design standards to provide design consistency across our product portfolio and help maintain those design standards as needed
  • Actively seek feedback from end users about product designs and use that feedback to improve the designs
  • Assist other User Experience Designers working on product designs.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, User Experience, Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Completed courses in design, user experience, human centered design, or human factors
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Junior or Senior 
  • A design portfolio demonstrating command of a holistic design process and the ability to create design artifacts because of that process
  • Experience with agile development methodologies 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills such as serving in a leadership role in student organization
  • Innovative approach to problem solving
