Your Impact
As an MBA Assortment Planning Intern at Lowe’s, you’ll play a critical role in helping shape the product assortment strategy for a Fortune 50 retailer. You’ll work directly with our Merchandising and Data Analytics teams to understand customer preferences, optimize category performance, and drive strategic decisions that impact the in-store and online experience across thousands of SKUs. From analyzing consumer behavior to developing localized assortments, you’ll help ensure that the right products are available at the right time, in the right markets — all while learning from experienced retail professionals who are passionate about helping customers love where they live.

This internship is based at our headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina. Our corporate office is a space where you can collaborate and do your best work. Take a walk, grab a bite (or a cup of coffee), work out or get a check-up – we invest in you so you can find your inspiration.
What You Will Learn
How to use data analytics to support assortment planning and category management.
Techniques for evaluating SKU productivity, item rationalization, and product lifecycle.
How assortment strategies vary across store formats, regions, and customer segments.
Methods for aligning product offerings with market trends and customer needs.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing.
How to present insights and recommendations to senior leadership using data storytelling.
Minimum Qualifications
Pursuing an MBA with a concentration in Merchandising, Retail Management, Business Analytics, or a related field
Expected graduation dates of December 2026 or May 2027.
3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
Proficient in MS Office Programs (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills/Experience
Prior experience in merchandising, supply chain, consulting, or retail operations.
Passion for retail strategy, analytics, and customer behavior.
Experience working with large data sets and synthesizing insights for business decisions.
