Job Description

This position is expected to start around August or September 2025 and continue through the Fall term (ending approximately December 2025) or continuing into Winter/Spring 2026 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

About the Team
The Packaging Engineering team develops and leads the implementation of cutting-edge packaging. Interns will develop packaging needed to effectively protect and integrate with the automated material flow and manufacturing lines. Interns will also contribute to enhancing the development process and supporting tools.
Job Responsibilities
- Design part packaging to interface with custom production automation equipment and material handling equipment
- Support automation equipment design as part of the project team developing new custom automation equipment
- Work with the Design Engineering team to understand part design in order to develop highly optimized packaging solutions for a wide range of parts
- Work with part suppliers and packaging suppliers to get your designs implemented
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- Experience working with design, development and implementation of packaging projects. Preference in the automotive industry or high-speed automated lines
- PMP, PMI certificates or experience in project management is helpful for project management interns
- Solidworks, Catia, CAD software, TOPS/CAPE, ArtiosCAD can all be helpful skills
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate dynamic cross-functional projects with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing and test to meet project timelines
- Proficient at-risk management and communication
- Experience working in time critical and fast-paced product development
- Strong record keeping and organizational skills necessary
