Hybrid position; office located at 3 Elliewood Ave, Charlottesville, VA.

The Office of the Vice Provost for Online Education and Digital Innovation (OEDI) is seeking a motivated student intern to act as a liaison within the student body and assist the OEDI team in day-to-day tasks and initiatives. This hybrid position also entails participation in University-wide events, the organization of student listening sessions, and attending weekly vendor meetings to both understand and promote OEDI’s mission on Grounds. Expected hours per week range from 10-20 depending on the intern’s availability.

This position is open to FWS and non-FWS eligible students.

Key Responsibilities

Typical duties could include, but are not limited to:

  • User testing online courses and other educational products and tools

  • Conducting outreach with the UVA undergraduate student body, including but not limited to the formation of student listening committees, participation in on-Grounds events, and engagement with students in OEDI career academies

  • Assisting the OEDI Communications Lead in outreach and promotion activities, including recruiting student participants for photo and video opportunities

  • Attending weekly vendor meetings with the OEDI team and supporting project managementvia meeting notes, action items, and recap emails

  • Organizing and streamlining engagement and enrollment data with Microsoft Excel

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a current undergraduate student at the University of Virginia

  • Must be in good academic and judicial/disciplinary standing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, Excel), Zoom and Canva

  • Proactive and solutions-oriented

  • Pursuing a major or minor in the School of Data Science or relevant experience working with data

  • Hourly Rate: $15/hour

  • Expected Weekly Hours:10-20 hours per week

  • Flexible scheduling in collaboration with the hiring manager

Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary position involving computer-based work; however, occasional on-Grounds events may require travel to and from our Elliewood Office, which is located on the top floor of Ragged Mountain Running Shop and is only accessible by stairs.
