The sustainability strategy team focuses on advancing essential processes, systems, and tools to improve both the accuracy and efficiency of scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions measurement, as well as supporting company-wide sustainability objectives. The team collaborates with the merchandise, sourcing, and product design teams and is very data-driven.

This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from January 2026 to June 2026.

What You Will Do

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Sustainability Strategy for Parks Product Development & Retail, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the infrastructure that enables The Walt Disney Company to drive both immediate and long-term growth in its product offerings, all while helping to fulfill our sustainability targets.

On any given day, you might:

  • Optimize and update product classification systems (product archetypes) to enhance the precision of our annual scope 3 emissions reporting, including suggesting new archetypes if needed

  • Prepare a preliminary assessment of scope 3 emissions related to secondary packaging for globally developed products

  • Offer technical expertise in establishing emissions factors for emerging product archetypes and secondary packaging

  • Provide line-of-sight to Senior Manager on daily business issues

  • Collaborate with cross-functional business partners and the corporate sustainability team to unlock areas of intersection / interdependency (“connect the dots”) as it relates to sustainability and scope 3 emissions

  • Contribute to a culture that fosters teamwork, creativity, and innovation while driving accountability to results

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience using key digital tools such as Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint

  • An ability to simplify complex problems, synthesize data, and create compelling narratives to inform decision making

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals and teams (both small and large, technical and non-technical)

  • Excellent organizational skills

Education

  • Junior year or above preferred

  • Major or previous coursework in Environmental Science, Environmental Sustainability, or a closely related field of study with an emphasis on GHG emissions/carbon footprint and data management

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship​

  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program

  • Be at least 18 years of age​

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization​

  • The approximate dates of this internship are January 2026 - June 2026

  • Fully available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 per week) and have a consistent, reliable work schedule for the duration of the internship
