THE OPPORTUNITY

Ovintiv’s program is a comprehensive internship designed to provide a solid foundation of knowledge and experiential training while giving students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in school in a real-world setting. As an intern you will spend the summer working closely with an experienced mentor and be assigned a project and various other responsibilities intended to provide you with learning opportunities while delivering meaningful contributions to Ovintiv.

As an Intern within Human Resources, you will be given an opportunity to learn about many functions and programs including compensation and benefits, workforce data and analytics, succession planning, learning & development, recruiting, employee relations and general HR advisory work with the business.  

RESPONSIBILIITIES

Working in our Human Resources Service Center (named “myHR”), you will learn the function of an HR Analyst including:

  • Answering daily employee inquiries on a variety of topics.

  • Processing HR transactions such as employee new hires and terminations and contractor workforce updates using Workday.

  • Reviewing and recommending HR process changes for continuous improvement.

  • Recruitment support including reviewing, editing and posting jobs, setting up interviews and Workday administration.

  • Working and supporting various projects within HR.

  • Preparing analytical reports in support of the HR Advisors.  

HOW DO I QUALIFY?

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or closely related field. 

  • Preference will be given to those enrolled as a full-time student with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2028.  

  • Available to work in Denver, CO from May 18 to August 7, 2026.  

  • Solid academic results, particularly in HR related courses, balanced with work experiences, volunteer or other social extracurricular experiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.  

  • Proven problem-solving skills.  

Hiring Hourly Range: $22.81– $31.59 USD

Compensation may vary and will be determined by year in school.
