The Team & Role
Copeland is seeking forward-thinking engineering interns to join our multidisciplinary teams focused on electronics systems, product development, and regulatory compliance. This internship provides hands-on experience in designing, testing, and validating innovative technologies while ensuring alignment with industry standards and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities & Your Day-to-Day
Electronics Systems & Product Development
- Assist with customer samples and special compressor builds with instrumentation.
- Support system testing including refrigeration circuitry, controls development, and performance analysis.
- Participate in the design and testing of electronic controls such as thermostats, furnace controls, building controls, and cold chain monitoring solutions.
- Generate schematics, build and test circuit boards, and contribute to circuit design.
- Collaborate with product management and sales to define product requirements and develop innovative concepts.
- Communicate project status and requirements across local and global teams.
- Create engineering documentation including assembly drawings, installation instructions, and test specifications.
- Design and execute feasibility studies and test plans for new products.
Compliance Engineering
- Develop and implement compliance programs aligned with industry regulations and company policies.
- Conduct internal and external audits to identify and resolve compliance issues.
- Provide technical guidance on compliance matters across product design, manufacturing, and operations.
- Investigate non-compliance incidents and support corrective actions.
- Create and deliver training programs on compliance standards and best practices.
What You Bring
- Experience or interest in analog/digital circuit design.
- Familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and microcontroller firmware development.
- Understanding of regulatory standards such as FCC, CE, RoHS, REACH, ANSI, UL, IEC (or willingness to learn).
- Strong documentation and report writing skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's degree in related field(s)
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Anticipated Graduation of December 2026 or May 2027
