Job Description:

The Management Intern, Program Coordinator provides professional level administrative support to senior leadership, assisting with general administration projects, research and analysis, procedural studies, and technical planning. This position collaborates with the Associate Dean in order to gain working knowledge and experience related to department administration.

Position Salary Range:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour; depending on experience

Essential Duties:

Serves in an intern capacity for a specified division or program, which may include the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Performs tasks related to specific function/program assigned, such as communications, marketing, tracking event attendance, or other unique projects.

  • Conducts independent research of administrative or operational areas specific to the office.

  • Assists in development of new programs, policies or procedures; coordinates existing programs as assigned.

  • Assists in specialized administrative or technical projects for the office

  • Analyzes procedures and makes recommendations for improvement.

  • Maintains databases, supports data collection, and prepares reports as needed.

Areas of duties and responsibilities may include the following: 

  • General Administration

  • Development

  • Business Office

  • Event Staging

  • Marketing and Promotions

  • Media Relations

  • Operations

  • Special Projects

  • Data Analysis

  • Report Development.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • Knowledge of management principles and practices.

  • Knowledge of program coordination.

  • Knowledge of basic project management.

  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

  • Skill in planning, organization, coordination of activities.

  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

  • Effective communication, both verbal and written.

  • Skill in the use of personal computer and related software applications.

  • Demonstrated experience with graphic design and/or media production software and tools (podcast and/or video editing, social media, newsletters, flyers, infographics)

  • Experience creating and managing Qualtrics surveys and reports and other spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel, Google sheets, etc.)

  • Experience working on a community engagement team and/or research team

  • Experience with geocoding

Working Environment:

  • Work collaboratively across various departments within the University as well as with diverse populations and groups to achieve objectives

  • Work in an office setting, remotely, and use office equipment (i.e. printers, copiers, fax machines, telephones)

  • Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 15 pounds

  • Critical thinking skills to make decisions and/or analyze data
