Salary Range: 44700 to 58200 (Currency: CAD) (Pay period: per-year-salary)

Work Arrangement: On Site
Pay Range: $44,700 - $58,200; pay is dependent on year of study and related experience
Duration: Eight (8) months, January 2026 – August 2026, with possibility of a longer placement
Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week, M-F

Your Co-Op Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

Aa a Materials Innovation Co-Op Student, you support on the day-to-day testing activities that our Advanced Concepts team takes on. As we go further into material developments, this role supports with research, data, insights, materials samples and the fundamental modelling that will inform our future projects. You can expect to work on researching and testing material solutions and technologies to serve our athletes in all environments.

The Advanced Concepts team drives breakthrough innovation in snow, trail and climb for the mountain athlete everywhere. Fueled by curiosity, we take a holistic approach to identifying future needs and tangible solutions across advanced materials, products, technologies, and experiences. We are a team of builders, problem solvers and outdoor enthusiasts. Our in-house, end-to-end capabilities in research, engineering, design, development, digital experience and product validation allow us to innovate head-to-toe solutions that bring the coast mountain experience to the world. Our unique methodology, mindset of sustainability, and fanatic passion for product are at the heart of what we do.

If you were a Materials Innovation Co-Op Student now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Leading specific topics and research areas; scouting, internet research, collaborating with external parties, reviewing testing methods, as well as reading, digesting and summarizing technical information from research
  • Testing in the lab and supporting on sample preparation and organization
  • Conducting tests, summarizing and analyzing results
  • Communicating/presenting findings to relevant stakeholders
  • Supporting with ongoing materials management; assisting in shipping and receiving duties and the storage and organization of inventory
  • Partnering with the broader Advanced Concepts team on research projects
  • Collaborating and gaining insights into work happening across the Merchandising, Design, Product Creation and Development, Inline Materials, and Supply Chain teams, along with external partners

Here are some of the things you will learn by the end of your Co-Op placement:

  • Gain experience working alongside researchers, scientists and developers who are working on next generation Arc’teryx concepts and you will develop an understanding of their approach
  • Gain further insights into baseline testing, and pressure test current methodologies
  • Various documentation methods

Are you our next Materials Innovation Co-Op Student?

  • You are a Year 3 or 4 Undergraduate student in Materials Engineering or Textiles Engineering
  • Currently enrolled in or entering a Master’s program preferred
  • You are comfortable using the Microsoft Suite
  • You are experienced using data analysis software
  • You are experienced with textile testing and the ability to operate textile testing machines
  • You are comfortable navigating, reading and interpreting data
  • You are an initiator, keen to connect with existing and broader teams, able to build relationships, share data and approach insights with ease
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
  • You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
