Heating Plant Operator

Overview

Electric Boat - Groton is seeking a Heating Plant Operator who is ready to work on a team of skilled operators, pipefitters, and engineers to operate and maintain all boilers.

Operations and mechanical maintenance knowledge and ability necessary.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Work on a team of skilled operators, pipefitters, and engineers to operate and maintain all boilers operations and mechanical maintenance knowledge and ability necessary
• Perform minor maintenance repairs and coordinate with maintenance department and contractors for major repairs
• Operate and maintain low presser compresses
• Perform and maintain all boiler treatment processes
• Observe and record various equipment pressers and temperatures
• Preform preventive maintenance on all equipment directed by the supervisor
• Perform general manual labor work or any other projects/assigned work as necessary
• Must be flexible for all shifts
• Must be available for overtime on weekends, holidays and plant shutdown

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED or 2 years of related technical experience
• 5+ plus years of boiler operation/ heat plant experience

Preferred

• Operations and mechanical maintenance knowledge and ability
• CT Operators Engineer
• CT Operator License
• Military Experience
