Job Responsibilities:

Job Overview

As our Apprenticeship Coordinator, you’ll lead and grow Kamtek’s Tool & Die apprenticeship program. You’ll coach apprentices on the floor, coordinate their training plans, and partner with managers across departments to make sure every apprentice is developing the right skills—safely and on schedule.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day, hands-on training for Tool & Die apprentices; support related maintenance/tooling training as needed
  • Build and manage individual learning plans; schedule interdepartmental rotations and classroom sessions.
  • Create practical skills assessments and tracking templates; document progress consistently.
  • Ensure compliance with program, education, and safety requirements; promote 5S and strong housekeeping.
  • Mentor and support apprentices; help with candidate selection and onboarding.
  • Communicate program updates and apprentice progress to Training, HR, and site leadership.
  • Support tool room operations (die builds, engineering changes, repairs, installs) and help coordinate work assignments.

Education And Qualifications

  • Required: High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Two-year technical degree in Tool & Die (or equivalent experience); completion of a Tool & Die apprenticeship.
  • Experience: 5+ years in Tool & Die (Class A 2–3 years preferred); exposure to automotive heavy stamping (transfer/progressive), heat treat, and die building.
  • Technical skills: Stamping/process fundamentals; blueprint/CAD reading; proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools.
  • Work environment: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.; extended standing/walking; occasional bending/stooping; flexibility to support different areas/shifts as needed.
