Job Description

Tax team is responsible for managing close to £1.5bn in annual tax payments across more than 20 countries. We’re not just a FTSE 100 business: in the UK alone, we’re a Top 20 taxpayer and taxes account for a significant proportion of the group’s cost base. Tax is a prominent function within the business and puts itself at the heart of everything we do.

The group moves fast and is constantly adapting to changing regulation and new market opportunities.   

As an International Tax Intern at Entain india you’ll help assist with ensuring that the Group meets its international tax filing obligations globally. 

Business partnering

  • Work collaboratively within the Group Tax team and Finance teams to ensure tax return deadlines are communicated and followed up. 
  • Maintain relationships within both the Group Tax Team and the Finance team. 
  • Communicate with the group’s tax advisers to get status updates and to obtain filed documentation.

Compliance

  • Work with the International Tax team to follow set processes to ensure that the compliance status of group companies is tracked, documented and kept current at all times within Thomson Reuters Calendar tool. This includes
    • Input the status of tax filings across the group and maintain an up-to-date record for each of the group companies.
    • Maintaining records of tax filings and tax payments
    • Help to monitor the Group’s compliance obligations and filing requirements to ensure all direct tax filings and payments deadlines are inputted into the tracker
    • Help to monitor the Group’s tax filing obligations and record when these submissions are made.
    • Help to flag filing obligations that are at risk of being missed
    • Help to chase teams responsible for filing to ensure that filing deadlines are being observed
    • Work with the International Tax team and follow defined processes to ensure obligations are updated for changes within the Group structure, e.g., acquisitions, mergers, or liquidations. 
    • Help to liaise with teams within group finance and external suppliers to prompt information requests that are outstanding.
  • Support the International Tax Team in liaising with Finance teams to understand status of ongoing obligations. 
  • Maintaining internal files to ensure Compliance information is held centrally on a timely basis.
  • Assisting with Compliance administration, such as tax payments and preparation of basic returns. 
  • Maintain an up to date contact list for each entity.
  • Make suggestions for process improvements.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • B.Com. or MBA (Finance) and/or economics degree.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptionally organised and diligent with good attention to detail
  • Reliable and consistent with the ability to follow set processes.
  • Good IT skills including database management and MS Office skills including Excel 
  • Pro-active, and enthusiastic team player.

Desired:

  • Experience of, or interest in, wider international tax matters.
  • Experience of, or an interest in tax compliance obligations.
