Carbon Brake manufacturing is a unique process. There are only a handful of these manufacturing sites around the world. Our brakes are used to stop commercial aircraft every day. The manufacturing of the carbon-carbon disks begins with raw material and leaves our plant as a fully completed product. All manufacturing test and research is completed in house. The intern will have a chance to solve real world problems and experiment with in process changes with measurable impacts.  

This position is for an Program Engineering Intern with a passion to learn about and gain experience in the Carbon Brake Manufacturing Industry. This role is onsite, in Pueblo, CO. This role may be eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do:

• You will support lead/engineers with Carbon processing engineering projects.
• You will help with product performance troubleshooting and root cause identification activities.
• You will support current production issues if the need arises.
• Perform material analyses that include, but are not limited to, failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications.

What You Will Learn:

• You will be provided access to Collin’s Aerospace communities of practice for learning and networking opportunities. 
• You will learn Carbon-Carbon manufacturing processes along with data analysis.
• You will learn aerospace design and test standards and how they apply to carbon manufacturing.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Previous Engineering intern experience.
• Experience with minitab, Solidworks, NX, SQL.
• Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
