At DMA, you will have the opportunity to deliver innovative solutions to today’s complex indirect tax issues using emerging technologies. We combine our knowledge of industry solutions and DMA’s leading analytics and AI solutions to provide value-added automation solutions to clients. DMA’s tax technology consultants are widely recognized for their in-depth expertise and understanding of tax processes and enabling technologies, along with a commitment to delivering measurable results that help clients solve problems and create business value.

DMA is seeking a self-directed intern with a passion for technology, collaboration, and creative problem solving.  The tax technology intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor to build, roll out, and train our consulting team on delivery standards and best practices with a focus on cloud-based software implementations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learn and contribute to improving DMA’s structured project methodology
  • Gain familiarity with indirect tax software solution platforms 
  • Contribute as a team member to identify, design, and implement automation to support our consulting teams as they manage complex customer projects with a focus on cloud-based sales tax solutions
  • Manage project timelines and successful completion of project deliverables and activities
  • Document internal and external business processes and comprehensive best practices for sales and use tax automation projects
  • Connect, engage and work with our consulting teams to roll out new standards and practices

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create presentations
  • Document operating procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing a college degree in Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, and presentation) and interpersonal skills (outgoing and personable)
  • Ability to think strategically, solve problems effectively, and persistently follow-through on assignments
  • Ability to understand and conceptualize accounting and tax processes and procedures
  • Receptive to feedback
  • Experience with Microsoft products, data analytics tools and cloud-based business solution
