UI/UX Intern

The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a UX/UI Intern at Refeyn to support the design team in creating intuitive interfaces for scientific software. They will help turn user feedback into clear, effective design solutions, contribute to research and prototyping in Figma, and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product managers to improve the user experience of Refeyn’s innovative instruments.

This is a part-time opportunity working 20 hours per week for a period of 6 months. 

Primary responsibilities for this role include:

• Assist in designing wireframes, interactive prototypes and high-fidelity designs in Figma
• Support UX research through user interviews, surveys, or usability testing.
• Help analyze user behavior and suggest design improvements.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers.
• Participate in brainstorming and feedback sessions.
• Maintain and update design systems or UI libraries.

We are ideally looking for someone with the following experience: 

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in UX/UI, Design, HCI or related field.
• Figma familiarity and a willingness to learn.
• Understanding of user-centred design principles and UX Research techniques
• A portfolio (even if academic/personal projects) showcasing UX/UI work.
• A genuine interest in science will be highly valued
