The Corporate Risk Management team (CRM) is fundamental to Schwab meeting our vision of being “the most trusted name in financial services”. In Corporate Risk Management, we contribute by striving to be known for best-in-class risk management that focuses on enhancing trust with clients and business partners while providing independent risk management expertise and oversight across the enterprise.
- Enterprise and Operational Risk Management - In this role, you may be given the opportunity to gain exposure to identifying & mitigating third party risk, managing a centralized portfolio of risk applications, and analyzing & reporting risk data with the opportunity to drive strong data quality and streamline risk management processes. This internship will be hosted in either Austin, South Lake (DFW), or Omaha
- Corporate Compliance - In this role, you may be given the opportunity to perform risk-based testing of legal entities, business units and investment products, partner on data analytics initiatives and increase automation and efficiency across corporate compliance, analyze and manage data and information to create compliance reports for senior leadership. This internship will be hosted in either Austin or South Lake (DFW).
- Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) - In this role, you may be given the opportunity to analyze trading patterns to help identify potential market manipulation, investigate client accounts for potential unauthorized activity, investigate clients who might be engaging in prohibited activity, perform gap analysis of existing dataflow; assist in the effort to identify efficiencies compile and analyze requisite metrics. This internship will be hosted in Denver.
- Technology Risk Management (TRM) - Technology Risk Management focuses on the ability to articulate and contextualize technology risk impacts Firm wide. - enabling effective Technology Risk Management oversight through risk identification, governance, risk measurement, reporting and support of departmental, audit, and regulatory needs.
As an intern, you will be involved with strategic initiatives and oversight activities that contribute to committee deliverables such as but not limited to scenario analysis, evaluation of emerging threats and risk at a global level, as well as participation in the Annual Risk Assessment report. The Annual Risk Assessment evaluates the Firm’s Inherent Risk, Effectiveness of Risk Management, and Residual Risk from a technology, security, and operational resilience lens. This wide breadth of scope will provide you the opportunity to work closely not only with members in Technology Risk Management, but also across second and first line of defense departments.

Target Total Compensation - $27-37/hour

What you have
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in a university program and be able to start full-time employment between August 2026-September 2027.
- Ability to work full time (40 hours) and be on-site at one of the Schwab locations for the duration of the 9-week program (June 8 to August 7, 2026)
Preferred Qualifications
- Superior communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong analytical ability to interpret data and provide solutions to presented issues
- Keen decision-making aptitude
- Comfort using an array of Microsoft Office utilities: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Initiative-taker mentality with outstanding organizational skills.
- Resourcefulness and flexibility, who enjoy working through cross-functional partnerships and collaboration to achieve a common purpose
- An innovative and questioning demeanor, who constantly look for better ways to do things, have a passion for service, and seek to exceed client expectations
