Geotab is seeking a Technical Learning & Development Intern who will work with the Learning & Multimedia department to support workflow automation within the department, Learning Programs, Content Management strategies, and Multimedia Content & Experiences. What you'll do:
As a Technical Learning & Development Intern your key area of responsibility will be supporting the Learning & Development team with setting up SOPs for automation in current workflows, supporting the coordination and planning of internal learning programs such as lunch & learns, in-person summits, and hybrid learning events. You will also support multimedia content management projects by supporting audits, updates and deprecation plans for content across the organization. You will need to work closely with the Learning & Multimedia department, the product teams, and other internal stakeholders such as IT, Marketing, and Project Management teams to support Geotab’s internal and external content experiences.
To be successful in this role you will need to be adaptable, a strong communicator, detail-oriented, a proactive self-starter, curious and eager to learn, able to work collaboratively in a team setting, open to feedback, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, creative in problem-solving, and have a passion for creating engaging multimedia content that enhances the learning experience. In addition, the successful candidate will have a foundational understanding of multimedia tools and platforms, basic knowledge of instructional design principles, proficiency in using content creation software, experience with data analytics to measure content effectiveness, a grasp of digital asset management, and the ability to align content solutions with business objectives and learner needs. Knowledge on basic tech terminology and coding languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript is a bonus.
The opportunity:
- 8-12 month work-term beginning January 2026.
- Full-time, paid internship: Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs/week.

How you'll make an impact:
- Learning Program Enhancement: Contribute to the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of internal learning programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and enhanced learner engagement. Leverage AI tools to streamline learning program creation, updates and tracking.
- Content Management Strategies: Assist in formulating and executing content management strategies, ensuring streamlined processes, optimized storage, and easy retrieval of multimedia assets. Explore opportunities to automate current workflows & documentation using Google Workspace tools.
- Multimedia Support: Play an integral role in conceptualizing, creating, and refining multimedia content such as videos, training, and eLearning modules, to provide immersive learning experiences for users.
- Change Management Contribution: Support change management initiatives by providing insights, multimedia tools, and strategies that aid in smoother transitions, ensuring employees are well-informed, prepared, and adaptive to new changes.
- Organizational Solutioning: Collaborate with various departments to design and implement solutions that address organizational challenges, leveraging multimedia and learning principles to enhance operational efficiency.
- Feedback and Continuous Improvement: Regularly gather feedback on multimedia content and learning programs, integrate analysis tools to visualize learner data,using insights to drive iterative improvements and ensure deliverables meet evolving needs of the organization.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Pursuing or completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Adult Learning, Multimedia Design, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in multimedia tools like Canva, Google Workspace, or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of instructional design principles and e-learning development tools like Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar.
- Experience with data analytics tools like Excel, Google Spreadsheet, PowerBI to measure content engagement and effectiveness.
- Basic understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles for digital content.
- Knowledge on basic tech terminology and coding languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript is a bonus.
- Familiarity with digital asset management systems.
- Ability to align multimedia content with learner objectives and assessment techniques.
- Familiarity with various multimedia formats, their applications, and conversion techniques.
