The Opportunity:

The Systems Engineering Intern / Co-op Student will support the systems engineering team in process optimization, template development, and project support activities. This internship provides undergraduate students with exposure to real-world engineering practices, mentorship from experienced professionals, and opportunities to contribute to engineering process improvements in a collaborative and inclusive environment.

What you can expect to do here:

• Assist with function tool and process optimization under direct supervision.
• Support the development and maintenance of systems engineering proposal and cost estimation templates.
• Contribute to the creation and documentation of project earned value system frameworks and systems architecture templates.
• Provide support to system lifecycle development, integration, testing, and deployment activities.
• Perform system requirements analysis, development, traceability, and maintenance with guidance.
• Prepare and execute written test plans and procedures as directed.
• Support verification and validation of system requirements and design.
• Document analyses, designs, and tests in accordance with standards and project requirements.
• Assist with technical design and engineering tasks as assigned.
• Work closely with systems engineers and project managers, following detailed instructions and established procedures.
• Seek out new assignments to learn and develop skills.
• Contribute ideas and collaborate on problems/issues within defined parameters.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of engineering theories and practices.
• Interest in systems engineering methodologies and lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Strong written, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under close supervision.
