Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineer Intern to join the transportation team in the Grand Rapids, Michigan office. Role would primarily be assisting the MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) group with plan production and associated tasks but may also include assisting other traffic disciplines such as the signing or pavement marking group.
This position is expected to begin in May/June 2026.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Previous internship experience.
- Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD and/or SignCAD.
- Familiarity with traffic analysis software such as Synchro/SimTraffic, Highway Capacity Software.
