We have an exciting opportunity for an FPGA Engineering Intern to join the Microelectronics Team within the Electrical Engineering organization. Electrical Engineering drives business success by providing a variety of critical engineering tasks across Raytheon product lines and functions.
What You Will Do
- Develop FPGA designs for all major vendors and device families including: Xilinx (AMD), Altera (Intel), and Microchip
- Implement designs using VHDL for the following applications: gigabit serial interfaces, Radio Frequency (RF) interfaces, DSP algorithms, control logic, data links, and/or embedded processing.
- Work with circuit card designers and systems engineers to develop requirements, collaboratively model algorithms, partition and perform code development, simulation, and implementation
- Verify designs against requirements using both directed test and constrained random test methodologies
- Provide design support from requirements definition through integration and test, including design documentation and configuration management
Qualifications You Must Have
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major
- This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Senior standing level by the start of Summer 2026.
- Experience with VHDL or Verilog programming
- Experience with FPGAs, microprocessors, or other programmable logic devices
Qualifications We Prefer
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Xilinx (AMD), Altera (Intel), or Microchip FPGAs
- Experience with Xilinx (AMD), Altera (Intel), or Microchip design tools and development environments
