THE ROLE:

FloSports is currently looking for an IT Intern to work as part of our Information Technology Team to help support our Waterloo office with trouble shooting for hardware, software and network - related issues. This IT internship provides hands-on experience in IT support, system administration, and cybersecurity, offering interns the opportunity to troubleshoot tech issues, work with networking and cloud platforms, and develop problem-solving skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Project based work with specific goals that can be added to your portfolio.

• Onboard existing IT assets into our asset management software.

• Assist with IT support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network-related issues.

• Help with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems and applications.

• Support cybersecurity initiatives, including monitoring threats and ensuring compliance with security policies.

• Participate in automation projects.

• Document IT processes and procedures to improve efficiency.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing IT projects.

• Research and suggest improvements for IT systems and workflows.

• Must be available from January - end of April.
  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Associate’s program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), networking, and software applications.

• Familiarity with IT troubleshooting, ticketing systems, or cloud platforms is a plus.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

• Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to a fast-paced work environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (BONUS POINTS):

• Experience with Jira/Atlassian, basic Scripting.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

• Hands-on experience with Ticketing systems..

INTERNSHIP DETAILS:

• Duration: 16 weeks

• Location: On-site at 445 Wes Graham Way, Waterloo

• Compensation: $22 CAD/hr

• Max Hours per Week: 30hrs
