Role Overview:
The Otis U.S. & Canada Communications team, supporting our Internal and External Communications and our Corporate Brand Centers of Excellence, is seeking an intern to join the team. This internship provides valuable exposure to the structure and multi-disciplinary approach of our communications organization while providing hands-on involvement in our work through a variety projects and touchpoints with business leaders. Ultimately, we aim to inform, inspire and engage our stakeholders at every touchpoint. You will report to the Communications Director who will provide you with access to mentorship, training growth and development opportunities across our highly resilient world changing business.
On a typical day you will:
Lead storytelling for our various internal customers including our sales teams, mechanics, functions and executive leadership teams.
Create weekly content for Viva Engage (internal social media) to showcase our wins through the colleague and customer voice.
Create a monthly internal email newsletter with a roundup of shared content, highlighted in a fun, light-hearted and informal tone.
Support the corporate brand team on a number of projects that support our internal customers including email campaigns, social media and internal SharePoint sites.
Look for ways to keep colleagues engaged and inspired through timely and consistent communications.
Develop and manage an editorial calendar to organize employee communications content for the company intranet, and other necessary platforms.
What You Will Need to be Successful:
Undergraduate students working toward a BS degree in Communications or similar field of study
Excellent communication skills and curiosity that leads to strong writing/storytelling
Adept project management skills, flexibility and adaptability
Ability to build relationships and work effectively whether remote or onsite
Experience and skills using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and/or OneNote
Proficiency with design programs such as Canva, Adobe or Illustrator is a strong plus
Additionally, candidates should be self-starters and be able to work independently. They should be
able to communicate a clear understanding of their subject matter, work in cross-functional teams,
respect individual differences and welcome diverse thinking, and offer informed suggestions to
improve processes.
