Frontend Software Engineer Intern

The Global Payment team of Bytedance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms including TikTok. Our Web and Client team in Global Payment is committed to building a highly integrated payment product that can be easily connected to the Web, App, cross-platform and other forms of Global Payment capabilities. In addition, we provide efficient and comprehensive services to developers, merchants and others through a series of platforms. Summer Start Dates: - May 11th, 2026 - May 18th, 2026 - May 26th, 2026 - June 8th, 2026 - June 22nd, 2026 Responsibilities - Develop and maintain efficient and reusable front-end code using React.js; - Build modular, reusable components and front-end libraries; - Collaborate with backend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic; - Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability; - Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs; - Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes; - Work closely with product design, product management, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality user experience. Minimum Qualifications: - Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Graduate/Master in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related technical discipline. - Proficient in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.js; - Familiar with state management libraries (e.g., Redux) and front-end tooling (e.g., Webpack, Babel); - Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git; - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; - Agile, quick self-learner, highly self-motivated with a strong sense of product ownership; - Good collaborator and team player, comfortable working in a fast-paced and culturally diverse team environment. - Must be able to commit to a 12-week full-time work period during Summer.
