Description of Internship

At Purina PetCare, we believe science is at the heart of everything we do. As a trainee in our Purina European Team, you will play a key role in supporting the scientific substantiation of our product ranges—especially PPVD (Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets) Pro Plan Supplements and Purina Pro Plan—as well as contributing to the broader NPPE brand portfolio.

Working closely with our Science & Nutrition Managers and with our Veterinary Affairs Manager, you will help ensure that all product-related communications are backed by solid scientific evidence. This includes providing accurate, credible, and engaging nutritional and product science content to support marketing, communications, and brand positioning efforts.

You will be part of a dynamic European team, organized by Condition Type, and gain hands-on experience in how product science drives innovation, trust, and impact across the pet care industry.

This internship is your chance to work within a dynamic, cross-functional European environment where technical knowledge meets real-world business impact.

You should apply if you are:

  • Veterinary student, Master or PhD.
  • Having the necessary credits to be able to carry out the curricular or extracurricular 6 months internship in our company. We only accept the candidacies of alumni who are enrolled in degrees or masters linked to official universities.

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Spanish and/or Catalan is a plus.

  • Flexible and autonomous, you can meet strict deadlines while also being open to giving and receiving regular feedback.

  • You are precise and do your utmost to comply to procedures and deadlines.

  • You are a good communicator.

  • Excellent digital skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel as a minimum).

What can you expect from this experience?

  • We have a friendly, supportive team with a coaching and mentoring environment.

  • There are real opportunities for future development and progression – this really could be a move towards the exciting professional career you’ve always wanted.

  • Through your term, you will receive developmental feedback to ensure that you are learning and understanding the importance of your contribution within the world’s largest food company.

  • You will also build your business acumen and leadership capabilities, gaining insights on how an FMCG company works thanks to direct access to a variety of stakeholders in different businesses, functions and markets.

Terms & Conditions:

  • College scholarship: 883€ per month.

  • 6 months, 30 hours per week.
