About the Role & Program
As an intern in Location Planning & Allocation, you'll build leadership skills and gain valuable experience in communication & critical thinking. As a liaison between the onstage Operations teams and the Merchandise teams, you will develop a strong understanding of how we create memorable moments through products. We work together to craft the strategy and product flow for locations to tell a story through products, creating memories for our Guests to relive when they are home with the merchandise that they purchased.
This exciting internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from January 2026 to June 2026.
What You Will Do
You will support the Area Location Planning & Allocation team in defining the strategy for departments and cross-category programs to maximize revenue through product flow, performance, and method of replenishment. Collaborate on the short-term and long-term strategic direction for the merchandise shops under your responsibility. Strategies are defined using guest data, product strategies, operational feedback, and financial data. Join the team that focuses on the big picture and creates the vision for new opportunities!
On any given day, you might:
Analyze and interpret business reports, assess key performance indicators while looking at current trends, and think critically about how to improve sales and guest experiences
Establish initial presentation quantities, ensuring stage set dates and item inventory are positioned to meet critical product launches while continuing to proactively provide communication on stock availability
Identify/recommend backfill strategies for locations and data integrity concerns, requesting the appropriate course of action to solve
Provide strategic feedback to Merchandise Strategy & Merchandise Planning teams to help shape product offerings and strategies
Communicate and create positive relationships with Operations teams for the implementation of merchandise strategies
Collaborate with Product Strategy and Visual Presentation to adapt merchandise offerings for quarterly updates and seasonal events, ensuring they align with guest expectations
Review upcoming product strategies, select items for each merchandise shop, and create floor plans & product flow calendars in collaboration with Visual Presentation
Required Qualifications & Skills
1+ years of experience focused on leading strategic development, concept development, business development, and financial management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of merchandise planning, merchandise financials, forecasting, and trend analysis, while focusing on the big-picture vision
Excellent relationship, partnership, coaching, and mentoring skills
Experience setting priorities and meeting established timelines
Preferred Qualifications
Basic knowledge of Financial Planning Software
Education
Junior or Senior year preferred
Major or previous coursework in Business, Finance, Retail/Merchandise, Math, or a closely related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization

Must be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines while at work
Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2026 - June 2026
Fully available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 per week) and have a consistent, reliable work schedule for the duration of the internship
Transportation: Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando, Florida area
